SPIRITUAL PAINTINGS
Fritz Riedl usually created his designs as watercolors to scale. They served as the basis for the tapestries, but were not exact templates. During the weaving process, he often continued to develop the composition and made changes to the forms, colors, or proportions. Many of the designs also possess an independent artistic value and clearly document the creative path from the initial design to the finished tapestry.
